O
God of Orpah! Thank you, for your freedom and liberty yet another day. We pray
that your Inspiring Word will engulf us in our body, mind and spirit. Help us
not to worship you traditionally, ironically, and with compulsion but with the
spirit and in truth. Help us to create positive attitude that gives success,
courage and hope in despair. Help us to approach scriptures with a new lens
(eyes) basing on our mental abilities, our own context and understanding. Many
a time we venerate Ruth in the book of Ruth and disguise as Orpah. We confess
that there are some things hidden in all biblical characters positively. Bible
says “For whatever was written in former days was written for our
instruction, so that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the
scriptures we might have hope” (Romans 15:4). We confess that you want to convey spiritual
essence through each word in the text. Orpah before going back to her land, she
left with eyes full of tears but she never complained or blamed neither God of
Israel nor people of Israel. Several times, we blame you and People when things
are not in a right place. We jump to a conclusion saying that I am right and
they are wrong, I am perfect and they are imperfect and I am good and they are
bad. Always blaming, complaining and cornering others while keeping fault on
our side. We admit that Orpah is right, who never blamed or complained about anybody.
Help us Lord to see things with your eyes. Give us positive outlook, which will
drive us further and beyond. Help us not to blame anybody and submit everything
to your will (Romans 8:28). Keep us in the very centre of your will. Let your
will be done O God. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
