Inspirational Prayers: 00062

“So, shall my Word be that goes out from my mouth; It shall not return to me empty but it shall accomplish that which I purpose and succeed in the thing for which I sent it (Isaiah 55:11).” In Gen 15:14 “God said to Abram that your offspring shall be slaves and oppressed for 400 yrs and they will come out with great possessions (Gen 15:14-15). This Word/promise of God was accomplished in Exodus 12:35 “The Israelites had done as Moses told them; they had asked the Egyptians for jewelry of silver and gold.” ‘430-530 yrs’ (approx. years between God’s covenant with Abram and Exodus event. God’s blessings are predestined and you are predestined. Though Israelites didn’t ask for compensation, God blessed them with possessions with a purpose, since they were in slavery for 430 yrs. Dear God, thank you for revealing one more time, that your Word shall not return empty but it shall accomplish in your appointed time. Help us to wait for your appointed time to receive favour. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Abram held offices of priest (Gen 13:4, 22:13), prophet (Gen 20:7) and a prayer warrior (Gen 20:17) along with "daddy of the faithful." I would say, he was 'NAPOTISTIC' as well, coz he held the office of king/warrior to release his captivated nephew from the "battle in the valley of Siddim" (Gen 14:8b). Abram forcefully sent away Lot along with his possessions after strife between their herders (Gen 13:9), yet he loved Lot even after 13 years (Gen 14:4). When he heard about Lot's captivity he operated his skills as a king and routed/ pursued enemy (Gen 14:15). Dear God, several times we never stretch out hands to our near & dear. Give us the same heart like Abram to care, share and bear each other’s burden. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Psalm 121:1-2 says “I lift up my eyes to the hills from where will my help come from? My help comes from the Lord who made Heaven and Earth.” This is a song of Ascents (usually sung by Hebrew pilgrimages on their way to Jerusalem or while ascending to mount Zion). After the strife between Abram and Lot, Abram asked Lot to separate with him (Gen 13:9). Without any hesitation Lot “looked up” and chose Sodom & Gomorrah – Destruction (13:10- Human will or choices). After separation, Abram settled in Canaan fully trusting in Gods will and timing (Gen 13:12). Then the Lord said to Abram “Raise your eyes” (Gen 13:14). Without any hesitation Abram moved like a   pilgrim to Zion fully trusting in Gods will & timing. Dear God, several times we make choice out of our own will and fail to submit to your authority. Help us to submit to your will and to obey your Word. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

According to Gen 7:1 Noah was a righteous man and we don’t have record of Noah family’s integrity (pre-flood). But Noah’s wife, sons and daughter-in – laws entered the ark along with Noah. In Genesis 7:16 “God shut him (Noah) in.” In Hebrew the word “shut” is transliterated as (cagar/sagar). In the Hiphil (Hebrew stems) form the word “cagar” gives English meaning as “to deliver up (to bring or transport to the proper place).” Dear God, we admit that sometimes you will purposefully shut the doors to give new openings, and new beginnings with better places which is far beyond our human imagination. You always want to deliver us to the proper place. Apart from Noah, Noah’s family didn’t not experienced your plan and revelation but submitted to your will. The result of shutting the door is for a new beginning, new creation, new covenant and promise. Like Noah’s family we belong to the place which is prepared by you. Help us to discern your will. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
