Inspirational Prayers: 00017

O God of Amos. Thank you for choosing as your sons and daughters. When our Church became lackadaisical you have sent our beloved pastor to strengthen its call and to make disciples. When we are settling for cheap grace you have sending costly grace through different mediums. Your scriptures says "Chosen the poor in the world to be rich in faith" (James 2:5). Thank you for choosing the poor and uneducated to perform your task. Amos (minor prophet) was neither prophet nor a prophet’s son. He was not educated and undergone training in any prophetic school. He was the contemporary of 3 Isaiah's (Major Prophet) who was well educated and trained. Thank you for using the two prophets (educated and uneducated) in the same time, to show the world that you can use anyone who are ready. Luxurious life by the rich, oppressing the poor, in justice, corruption, paganism and idolatry are not new concepts in present context but existed since Amos’ time. Though he was not a prophet your spirit stirred him up and made prophet to stand for social justice. Dear God, we confess that we are witnessing oppression, injustice, unrighteousness, corruption and all sorts of decline in spiritual standards prescribed by bible but we are not standing for social justice. Several times we are posting this and that in social media but when time comes we are not acting accordingly. Amos prophesied on behalf of poor and you promised restoration (Amos 9:11-15). O God. I am ready use me irrespective of my capabilities, capacities, calibre, skills, proficiency, qualities and qualifications. Give us the promise of restoration to my brothers & sisters through me. Thank you for using me as a carrier of your love. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
