O
God of Hagar, Your Word says "For surely I know the plans I have for you,
says the Lord, Plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future
with hope" (Jer 29:11). Thank you for the hope you are giving us today.
Hagar was a Slave girl from Egypt, she might have worshiped Egyptian Gods but
during her wilderness experience she received promise from you through angel
"I will so greatly multiply your offspring that they cannot be counted for
multitude" (Gen 16: 10). When Hagar and Ishmael were sent away (Gen
21:8-20), they wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba (Gen 21:8-14). O God of
hope, When water in the flask was dried, Hagar said "do not let me look on
the death of the child" (Gen 21:16). Hagar sat at a distance of bow shot
(60 yards). Though she said I could not look the death of my child, she did not
leave the place. We notice that she had the faith in your promise as mentioned
in chapter 16, she remembered your Word through the angel spoken. Several times,
we omit the faith of Hagar. This time we acknowledge the mustard seed faith of Hagar.
Grant us the same faith O master to shake the mountains a head in our journey.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
