O
God of Samuel. Luke 10 speaks of "The mission of seventy." Your Word
says "The Harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few" (Luke
10:2). Dear God you have appointed and sent 70/72 disciples after giving them
strict instructions and intensive training (Luke 10:3-12). The result is return
of seventy disciples with joy (Luke 10:17). Thank you for choosing us to carry
on your mission. O master, you had appointed Samuel as judge over Israel (I
Samuel 7:3-10) BUT NOT HIS SONS (I Sam 8:1) “Samuel made his sons judges over
Israel." The result is civil unrest and disobedience, people started a
movement asking for a King (I Sam 8:3-6). O God of caring, sharing and
nurturing. We notice several churches, ministries, servants, missions, missionaries,
ministers, leaders, deacons, laity, clergy are evolving but many are not from
you. Many are becoming futile and degrading the heart of your kingdom. Many
were shut and declined by people. Help us to discern your will and your CALL TO
DISCIPLESHIP. Help us not to settle for cheap grace rather help us to seek
costly grace which must be sought again and again. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
